Healthy eating habits for a expecting mother (part-2)

Taking daily nutrition is an essential part during pregnancy. Good nutrition is the key to healthy mother and baby. Including good amount of nutrition’s in diet helps in the development of the baby's body tissue and organs. The basic principles for a healthy diet are :
-Include a variety of nutrient-rich foods.
-Take a balanced diet.
 -Eat moderate amounts.
-Take pleasure in eating.
.........Don’t rely on just your prenatal vitamin to cover your nutritional needs; you need to combine your prenatal vitamin and a good diet to carry you through your pregnancy. Giving yourself proper nutrition will prevent you from getting anemia, which is linked to preterm birth and low birth weight. It is important for an expecting mother to stay hydrated throughout the day. Dehydration is the leading cause of pre-term contraction. Taking at least 3 liters of water in a day keeps pre-term contraction away. Water acts as the body’s transportation system. It transports vitamins, nutrition and a whole bunch of other great things to your baby during pregnancy. Drink lots of water, eat water based fruits and vegetables like watermelon, cucumbers. Avoid smoking, intake of alcohol or use of drugs during pregnancy. This is not considered as a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy. How much you eat is as important as what you eat. If you’re starting your pregnancy at a healthy weight, you don’t need any extra calories in the first trimester
Pregnancy presents a special opportunity for women to improve their eating habits. Many expectant mothers find it helpful to consult with a nutrition specialist for individualized help on making these dietary changes for themselves and their families.
